SkyShowtime is expanding original programming offering with first commissioned project in Poland – Sleboda

The series adaptation of the critically acclaimed crime novel Sleboda is the first locally commissioned SkyShowtime Original production created for Polish audiences.

SkyShowtime today announced its first commissioned original programming project in Poland. Forthcoming SkyShowtime Original series Sleboda – the adaptation of the crime novel - will mark the streaming services expansion of locally produced originals as part of its continued commitment to provide exclusive programming that resonates with local audiences across its markets.

SkyShowtime Original Sleboda - a Polish series based on the first part of the critically acclaimed series of crime novels by Małgorzata Fugiel-Kuźmińska and Michał Kuźmiński will be produced by Magdalena Szwedkowicz (Forgotten Love) and directed by Michał Gazda (The Pack, Forgotten Love).

SkyShowtime Chief Content Officer, Kai Finke said: “After less than a year since the launch of our service in Central and Eastern Europe, I'm thrilled to announce that we are commissioning our first Polish original series, Sleboda. With this show we are marking our continued commitment to delivering high quality local entertainment to our members.”

SkyShowtime launched 10 originals in 2023 – it's first year of operation – and so far in 2024 has announced a further four original programmes.
