SkyShowtime has revealed the first images from Las Invisibles, the new Spanish SkyShowtime Original coming soon to SkyShowtime.

Las Invisibles is produced by Paramount and Morena Films, created by Héctor Lozano (Merlí: Sapere Aude), and directed by Menna Fité (Merlí: Sapere Aude).

Starring Lolita Flores, Maria Pujalte, Yoshira Escárrega, Paula del Río, Paula Mirá, Yaël Belicha and Elena Irureta, the series centres around a group of maids who clean the rooms of a luxury hotel in the Mediterranean, while attempting to restructure their own lives. The story portrays the reality of women who struggle to earn a living yet always have a moment to smile. The series offers a large dose of optimism, in a world where life's little pleasures come together with the ability to overcome, dignity, love, and musical reverie.

Character descriptions

Espe – Lolita Flores

The leader of the maids and the one that has been working at the hotel the longest, after 22 years, her sad "record" is cleaning 30 rooms in one day.

Espe is resigned and lives the moment. She is addicted to the present and to Ibuprofen, due to her constant back pain. She always speaks her mind openly, although with the head of household she prefers to be cautious, out of fear of losing her job, as she has a grandchild to raise. She is married to Juan, and for the past three years they have been looking after their 9 year old grandson.

Espe does not like to share her private life. She doesn't want people to know that she has fallen in love with Diego, an attractive man who works at the hotel.

Isabel – María Pujalte

A close friends of Espe, they have grown older in the corridors of the hotel, although Isabel has "only" been a maid for 18 years. Naive, she dreams of an early retirement, although she knows she will never get it.

She has few aspirations, she just wants a quiet life: to get home, rest and not be disturbed. Her routine is broken when her brother Jesús, who is in trouble, asks to move in with her. Isabel sees trouble coming, but is unable to say no to her own brother.

Gladys - Yoshira Escárrega

She is a Mexican girl who is optimistic, ambitious and a dreamer. She stands out for her motivation and her readiness to improve the working conditions of the maids.

This extra point of motivation surprises and makes her colleagues, who are stuck in a deadlock of conformism, uncomfortable. But Gladys has drive and blindly believes that things can be changed little by little.

Her girlfriend Alicia, a conservative lawyer, doesn't understand her goals, but Gladys is smart and will use any means necessary to be heard.

Pilar – Elena Irureta

The maid who was the "mother" of them all dies of a heart attack at the age of 63 while making a bed in the hotel. The overload of work to which she had been exposed for years had been too much for her.

Pilar had always dreamed of being a dancer, touring the world and breaking a thousand hearts... but hers could not take it. After more than 25 years without missing a single day for the hotel guests, she has been on the verge of her longed-for retirement and collapsed on the bed of the bridal suite.

An inexplicable force pushes Pilar to finally enjoy all the time in the world. Free of stopwatches, suites, sheets and stress, she has decided to stay a while and, from above, witness the world she leaves to her colleagues. So, when she feels like it, she will return and her voice will resound from above, light, cheerful and jubilant.

Thus, she will be the voice-over of the series, a voice that will bring us closer to the art of dance. It is Pilar who imagines her colleagues coping with some sorrow while they do a sirtaki, dance a line dance or enjoy a pasodoble, a typical Spanish dance.
