SkyShowtime announced today that its first Slovakian original series The Winner (Víťaz) will premiere on the service from 4 September. The key art and supporting imagery have also been revealed for this highly anticipated SkyShowtime Original series, which consists of six episodes.

The Winner (Víťaz) is a captivating family comedy that delves into the life of Viktor Hudák (Ady Hajdu), a former Prime Minister of a small European country, who, after a decade, strives to reconnect with his family that he neglected throughout his political career. Seeking to assimilate into ordinary activities, he also attempts to win back the affection of his daughters and wife. However, his journey is fraught with unexpected and completely new daily challenges, sometimes surpassing those encountered during his tenure in parliament. With a perfect blend of humour and drama, the series explores the adventurous journey of Viktor, his daughters, wife, and closest ones.

SkyShowtime CEO Monty Sarhan said: "Less than a year since our launch, we have brought new and compelling SkyShowtime original series across our markets. We are excited to premiere the latest SkyShowtime Original Series The Winner (Víťaz), which will be available starting on 4 September. Audiences will love this timely and entertaining story about the collision of both real-world and family politics."

Directed by Jan Hřebejk, The Winner (Víťaz) features a screenplay by Zuzana Dzurindová and Peter Nagy, with Martin Šácha as the Director of Photography. The main role is portrayed by Ady Hajdu. Additional cast includes Ivana Chýlková, Milan Ondrík, Petra Dubayová, Zuzana Páleníková, Ján Jackuliak, Kristína Sisková, Rea Frlajsová, Natalia Germani, Noël Czuczor, Vladislav Plevčík, Sarah Arató, and Štefan Martinovič.

“The Winner (Víťaz) has a remarkable theme - the early retirement of the long-time prime minister. The authors came up with a number of tragicomic, touching situations. The result is a strange mix of family comedy and political satire that was a joy to shoot.” - said Jan Hřebejk, the Director of the series.

Jan Bílek serves as the Main Producer of the series, with Aleš Týbl as the Executive Producer. Other producers involved include Tereza Polachová and Steve Matthews. The Winner (Víťaz) was predominantly filmed in Bratislava, Slovakia.
