SkyShowtime reveals the trailer for The Winner, its first Slovakian Original series

The highly anticipated family comedy directed by Berlinale and Czech Lion-winning filmmaker Jan Hřebejk features a star-studded cast, including Ady Hajdu and Ivana Chýlková

The Winner is a captivating family comedy that delves into the life of Viktor Hudák (Ady Hajdu), a former Prime Minister of a small European country, who, after a decade, strives to reconnect with his family that he neglected throughout his political career. Seeking to assimilate into ordinary activities, he also attempts to win back the affection of his daughters and wife. However, his journey is fraught with unexpected and completely new daily challenges, sometimes surpassing those encountered during his tenure in parliament. With a perfect blend of humour and drama, the series explores the adventurous journey of Viktor, his daughters, wife, and closest ones.

Directed by well-known Czech filmmaker Jan Hřebejk (cult Czech comedy Pelíšky), The Winner, features a screenplay by Zuzana Dzurindová, with Martin Šácha as the Director of Photography. The leading roles, next to popular Slovak actor Ady Hajdu, include Czech Lion winner Ivana Chýlková, Natalia Germani nominated for the Czech Lion, and also young rising stars Petra Dubayová and Rebeka Rigová. Additional cast includes Noël Czuczor, Milan Ondrík, Zuzana Páleníková, Ján Jackuliak, Kristína Sisková, Rea Frlajsová, Vladislav Plevčík, Sarah Arató and Štefan Martinovič.

Jan Bílek serves as the Main Producer of the series, with Aleš Týbl as the Executive Producer. Other producers involved include Tereza Polachová and Steve Matthews. The Winner was predominantly filmed in Bratislava, Slovakia.
