SkyShowtime announced that The Envoys (Los Enviados) S2 will premiere exclusively on the service from 26 January, with four episodes available to stream from launch. The remaining four episodes will be available to stream from 15 March. The Envoys (Los Enviados) returns to the streaming service, with the first season available to stream also.
The Envoys (Los Enviados) stars Miguel Ángel Silvestre (Narcos, Sense8, Velvet, Sin tetas no hay paraíso) and Luis Gerardo Méndez (Narcos: Mexico, Nosotros los nobles, Club de cuervos), alongside Assira Abbate. Oscar® winner Juan José Campanella (El secreto de sus ojos) serves as Showrunner, Producer and Director. The cast also includes Marta Etura, Cristina Marcos, Charo Zapardiel, Luis Iglesia, Ricardo de Barreiro, Susi Sánchez, Pepón Nieto, Carlos Olalla, Isabel Naveira, Miquel Insúa, Guillermo Carbajo, and Francis Lorenzo, among others.
In The Envoys (Los Enviados) S2, priests Pedro Salinas (Luis Gerardo Méndez) and Simón Antequera (Miguel Ángel Silvestre) travel to Porto da Lúa, a small fishing village located in Galicia, to determine the veracity of a new miracle. In the convent of the village, where three blind nuns live, one of them, Sister Corina, has had a revealing vision: Xiana, a girl who disappeared shortly after her birth 18 years ago, is alive and in good health in Canada. After the intervention of the governments of Spain and Canada, it is corroborated that the girl is there and almost two decades after her abduction, the young girl returns to meet her parents and her true origins.
Priests Salinas and Antequera will have to determine whether the nun's vision is due to divine intervention. For this they collaborate with Sister Emilia, who is now fully integrated into their team. However, shortly after arriving at the village, a bloody crime takes place, and the envoys find themselves involved in a double investigation: one of a mystical-religious nature and the other much earthlier.
The Envoys (Los Enviados) S1 won Gold for Best Drama and Silver for Best Screenplay at the New York Festivals TV & Film Awards, one of the industry's most prestigious international awards. This second season was filmed in the Galician towns of A Guarda, Nigrán, Forcarei, Tui, Oia, Pontevedra, and Santiago de Compostela.
Campanella is a renowned Director and Screenwriter who has received several international awards throughout his career, including two Emmy® and an Oscar for Best Foreign Film for El secreto de sus ojos. The Envoys (Los Enviados) is produced by Paramount Television International Studios in association with 100 Bares and Portocabo and is directed by Campanella, along with Martino Zaidelis, Camilo Antolini and Inma Torrente. Written by Eduardo Sacheri, Emanuel Diez, Juan Pablo Domenech and Campanella, the second season is executive produced by Muriel Cabeza for 100 Bares and Alfonso Blanco for Portocabo.
