SkyShowtime unveils first look imagery, teaser trailer and full cast for upcoming original series Veronika, a Swedish crime thriller led by Alexandra Rapaport

SkyShowtime today revealed the first look imagery, teaser trailer and full cast for the highly anticipated crime series – with a paranormal flavour - Veronika. The SkyShowtime Original series will be available to stream from March, only on SkyShowtime.

The series is led by Nordic superstars Alexandra Rapaport (Gåsmamman, Honour) as police officer Veronika Gren and Tobias Santelmann (Exit, The Arctic Convoy) as her husband Tomas. Tobias also stars in SkyShowtime Exclusives Beforeigners and Welcome to Utmark. Joining the star-studded line-up is Olle Sarri (Snabba Cash, Together 99) as Tommy, Isac Calmroth​ (Allt som blir kvar, Ondskan) as Alexander​ and Arvin Kananian​ (Hålla Samman, Triangle of Sadness) as Nassir. Sarah Rhodin (Mirakel), Wilma Lidén (Karusell) and Eddie Eriksson Dominguez (Diorama) also appear in the series.

In this series set in a small town, police officer Veronika Gren (Alexandra Rapaport), a mother of two, struggles with her complicated family life and a secret pill addiction. When strange things start to happen and a deceased boy appears before her, Veronika thinks she’s lost her mind. Reluctantly, Veronika is forced to accept that the boy may not be an illusion. Soon Veronika finds herself in a murder investigation that goes deeper than anyone in town would like to believe, when she learns about the murder of two teenage girls. She must uncover the truth and find the connection between the cases to prevent the killer from striking again. But will anyone believe her?

The eight-part series is created and scripted by Katja Juras and Anna Lindblom (Gåsmamman) and helmed by acclaimed director Jonas Alexander Arnby (War of the Worlds), recipient of three nominations at the Cannes Film Festival for When Animals Dream. Veronika was shot on location in Sweden in Dannemora, Gimo and Österbybruk.

Veronika was produced by Calle Jansson and Mathias Gruffman at Bigster, alongside Alexandra Rapaport as Executive Producer.
