The new SkyShowtime Original Series Veronika, a crime thriller with a paranormal twist and the must-show to watch this Easter, will be available to stream from 22 March, only on SkyShowtime. The first two episodes will be available at launch, with two new episodes available weekly.

Veronika brings together several top names from the Nordic’s movie scene–

led by Nordic superstars Alexandra Rapaport (Gåsmamman, Honour) as police officer Veronika Gren and Tobias Santelmann (Exit, The Arctic Convoy) as her husband Tomas. Other cast members include Arvin Kananian, Olle Sarri, Isac Calmroth, Per Graffman, Sarah Rhodin, Wilma Lidén, and Eddie Eriksson Dominguez. Rapaport also serves as an Executive Producer on the series.

The series promises to captivate audiences with its suspenseful narrative while paying homage to the Scandinavian scenery and the everyday life of a suburban small town where just about anything can happen.

In this series, police officer Veronika Gren (Alexandra Rapaport), a mother of two, struggles with her complicated family life and a secret pill addiction. When strange things start to happen and a deceased boy appears before her, Veronika thinks she’s lost her mind. Reluctantly, Veronika is forced to accept that the boy may not be an illusion. Soon, Veronika finds herself in a murder investigation that goes deeper than anyone in town would like to believe when she learns about the murder of two teenage girls. Veronika must find the connection between the cases to prevent the killer from striking again. But will anyone believe her?

The eight-part series is created and scripted by Katja Juras and Anna Ströman Lindblom (Gåsmamman) and helmed by acclaimed director Jonas Alexander Arnby (War of the Worlds), recipient of three nominations at the Cannes Film Festival for When Animals Dream. Veronika was shot on location in Sweden in Dannemora, Gimo and Österbybruk.

Veronika was produced by Calle Jansson and Mathias Gruffman at Bigster, alongside Alexandra Rapaport as Executive Producer.

END.
