Star-studded cast join SkyShowtime's new original series Śleboda. The show will premiere this December

The new Polish SkyShowtime Original production, set in the Podhale region, will feature Maria Dębska, Maciej Musiał, and Piotr Pacek in the lead roles.

Secondary cast includes A-list actors such as Andrzej Chyra, Jan Englert, Tomasz Karolak, Magdalena Lamparska, Leszek Lichota, and Anna Nehrebecka, among others

Śleboda, a new SkyShowtime Original series, is a suspenseful crime story that will take viewers to the picturesque Podhale region of Poland. The characters' fates will become intertwined in a mountain mystery, which will be revealed when the show premieres this December. The lead roles will be played by Maria Debska, Maciej Musiał and Piotr Pacek, alongside a wider cast of A-list Polish actors.

Śleboda revolves around a young anthropology doctor from Cracow (Dębska) who flees to the mountains seeking self-discovery, only to stumble upon a dead body. She quickly becomes entangled in solving a murder mystery and finds herself crossing paths with Sebastian (Musiał), a shameless journalist on the hunt for a scoop, and Jędrek (Pacek), a local police officer, who she shared a teenage romance with.

When Anka decides to visit her cousins Kaśka (Joanna Balasz) and Józek Kalenica (Józef Pawłowski) in the Podhale years later, she is unaware of how much this trip will affect her life and her perception of the world. The story of Jan Śleboda (Jan Englert) and subsequent generations of this family – his son Maciej (Andrzej Zielinski) and granddaughter Majka (Helena Englert) - becomes a turning point in Anka's life and the local community. A mysterious murder, secrets from the past and intricate relations in the Podhale region are not what she was looking for in the mountains, packing her backpack in hopes of getting away from everyday life. 

SkyShowtime Original series Śleboda will feature, among others: Joanna Balasz, Andrzej Chyra, Kuba Dyniewicz, Helena Englert, Jan Englert, Tomasz Karolak, Artur Krajewski, Mateusz Janicki, Mateusz Kmiecik, Magdalena Lamparska, Leszek Lichota, Anna Nehrebecka, Józef Pawłowski and Andrzej Zielinski.

Śleboda is the first locally commissioned original programming project from SkyShowtime in Poland. The series is an adaptation of the first installment of the critically acclaimed series of crime novels written by Małgorzata Fugiel-Kuźmińska and Michał Kuźmiński. The production is directed by Michał Gazda and Bartosz Blaschke, with Tomasz Augustynek serving as the Director of Cinematography. Magdalena Szwedkowicz also serves as Producer on the series.

Śleboda premieres in December 2024.
