SkyShowtime debuts official trailer for new original series on legendary goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel

Today, SkyShowtime unveiled the official trailer and artwork for new SkyShowtime Original documentary series Schmeichel.
The two-part documentary delves into Peter Schmeichel's astonishing 22-year football career and his life beyond the sport. Described by Sir Alex Ferguson as ‘the greatest goalkeeper of all time’ and credited by his peers as ‘reinventing the position of the goalkeeper’, Schmeichel features unprecedented access to the man himself as he lifts the lid on what it really takes to be one of the world’s greatest sportsmen.
With a mix of never-before-seen personal archive footage and interviews with Peter Schmeichel, his family and key figures such as Sir Alex Ferguson, Eric Cantona and Gary Neville, who have been a part of his journey both on and off the pitch, the documentary charts his rise into the pantheon of the greats and the sacrifices he made to reach the top. Schmeichel played a key role in the Danish national team’s sensational victory at the 1992 UEFA European Championship and was an indispensable part of Manchester United’s most successful era under Sir Alex Ferguson.
Schmeichel is not just a tale of a sporting icon; it’s a touching family story of triumphs, setbacks, and personal redemption.
Schmeichel is directed by Owen Davies and produced by Simon Lazenby and Victoria Barrell from Sylver Entertainment, with Dogwoof as Executive Producers.
