Today, SkyShowtime revealed the official trailer for the new SkyShowtime Original documentary series A Recipe for Murder, which is set to premiere on 23 February. Three episodes will drop across all of SkyShowtime’s 20+ markets with weekly episodes to follow.

A Recipe for Murder is a compelling documentary series that chronicles the violent death of Colombian surgeon Edwin Arrieta on a tranquil Thai island, at the hands of Daniel Sancho, a 29-year-old aspiring chef known for his YouTube videos.

Sancho, the son of one of Spain’s most well-known actors, Rodolfo Sancho, was tried and convicted to life imprisonment in a Thai court in the summer of 2024. In spite of the trial being covered extensively by the world’s media, mysteries remain about the nature of the relationship between Arrieta and Sancho. The five-part series explores the truth behind not only their relationship but also the double life led by each man. While examining a toxic relationship, the shocking discovery of a dismembered body, and the investigation that followed, renowned documentary filmmaker José Gómez (11M: Terror in Madrid) shines a light on the role of the Thai legal system, the media, and even the audience itself.

A Recipe for Murder includes interviews with more than 50 contributors from Colombia, Thailand and Spain. Among those interviewed in Colombia are Arrieta’s family, including his parents Leovaldo and Ana Marcela; Darling Arrieta, the victim's sister; as well as his nephew Victor Jattin, and other close relatives and friends.

Contributors from Thailand include numerous people close to the investigation and the shocking murder case, including: Surachate Hakparn, better known as Big Joke, General of the Royal Thai police and the first person to take credit for Sancho’s arrest; Kittipong, a Thai police officer known as James Bond and widely recognized for appearing in the video reenactment of the murder alongside Sancho; Metapon, the Arrieta family's lawyer in Thailand; Chawait Lohitviset, a translator present during Sancho's confession; and Sancho's priest during the months he spent in Koh Samui prison.

Interviews from contributors in Spain include numerous journalists and experts in criminology and forensic psychology, as well as lawyers, including Beatriz Uriarte, one of the Arrieta family's Spanish lawyers, and Luis Gerez, Sancho's lawyer who represented him in a previous incident.

A Recipe for Murder consists of five 30-minute episodes and is produced by Get Me Out Productions LLC for SkyShowtime and directed by José Gomez.
