SkyShowtime reveals a stellar cast line-up for new original series Langer which will premiere this Spring
The director of the new SkyShowtime Original Langer is Łukasz Palkowski; Jakub Gierszał stars in the leading role
Filming is currently underway for the new Polish SkyShowtime Original series Langer – SkyShowtime’s second original commission in Poland.
Langer, a six-part thriller starring Jakub Gierszał as Piotr Langer, tells a story of a young, ambitious businessman who inherited a financial holding from his tragically deceased father. In his free time, Piotr indulges in his long-time passion - he is an elusive serial killer who has evaded prosecutors for years.
One day, a stunning woman, Nina (Julia Pietrucha), appears in his life at a charity gala, capturing Langer's attention and eager to get closer to him. Shortly after, she finds herself embroiled in a dangerous game and a relationship with Langer, which proves to be complicated as she seeks to find evidence to prove he is a killer. Will justice prevail this time...?
Alongside Jakub Gierszał, the cast includes Julia Pietrucha (Blondynka) as Nina Pokora, Magdalena Boczarska (The Art of Loving: The Story of Michalina Wisłocka) as Karolina ‘Siarka’ Siarkowska, a prosecutor pursuing Langer, and Piotr Adamczyk (Women of Mafia 2), who stars as prosecutor Olgierd ‘Paderborn’ Paderewski.
Other cast members include Kamil Nożyński (Blinded by the Lights), Mila Jankowska (25 Years of Innocence: The Case of Tomek Komenda), Karol Pocheć (Zatoka sziegów), Piotr Rogucki (Wróbel), and Mateusz Kościukiewicz (Mug ).
The SkyShowtime Original series Langer is an adaptation of a novel by Remigiusz Mróz, one of Poland's most popular authors. The series is produced by Violetta Furmaniuk-Zaorska (The Behaviorist, The Disappearance) and directed by Łukasz Palkowski (Bogowie, Breaking the Limits, The Disappearance). The screenplay was written by Katarzyna Górtat-Rzepka (Archivist, Overheard Murder) and Piotr Rzepka (Archivist, Wilderness). Marian Prokop is responsible for the cinematography.
