Alexandra Rapaport returns in the leading role, joined by new director Alexis Almström and new cast members Per Lasson, Martin Van Engers Hendrikse and Ulf Stenberg
Acclaimed SkyShowtime Original series Veronika is back for a third thrilling season of Nordic noir, with Alexandra Rapaport returning in the title role, alongside Arvin Kananian as her partner Nassir, and Sarah Rodin playing her daughter Liv. The first two episodes will premiere on 26 March exclusively on the streaming service, followed by two episodes weekly thereafter.
SkyShowtime’s first recommission across its 20+ markets returns just three months following the premiere of season two with a fresh theme and a new small-town setting that sees Veronika, now more at ease with her unique abilities, take on a haunting new case across six episodes.
Directing the latest season of the psychological drama is award-winning musician and writer Alexis Almström, known for his previous work on Top Dog, Pink Cloud Syndrome and JJ+E. Commenting on the third season Almström said; “It was incredibly exciting to dive into Veronika's mysterious world, together with the absolutely fantastic cast. I've wanted to explore this genre for a long time, and being able to do so now - while also revealing a previously unexplored side of Älvsbruk - adds an entirely new dimension to the story."
Veronika struggles to keep her family together after Tomas’ accident while battling PTSD and increasingly intense visions. When Nils, the son of speedway rider Tom goes missing, the entire town of Älvsbruk is thrown into a massive search effort. He is soon found dead, and a complex murder investigation unfolds. Suspicions fall on the speedway team, the local biker gang, and people close to Nils, as hidden conflicts and long-buried secrets begin to surface. Veronika’s visions become a key to understanding what is truly happening, even as relationships strain and pressure mounts. The investigation twists in unexpected directions and leads to a shocking revelation that changes everything. Ultimately, the season culminates in a defining moment that forces Veronika to make a difficult decision – one that will shape her family’s future.
Created and written by Katja Juras and Anna Ströman (Gåsmamman), Veronika is produced by Calle Jansson and Mathias Gruffman at Bigster, with Alexandra Rapaport also serving as Executive Producer.
All previous seasons of Veronika are available to stream on SkyShowtime, with seasons 2 and 3 exclusively on the platform.
