Trailer: Here
SkyShowtime has released an all-new trailer for Swedish original drama series The Trio (Trion), offering a glimpse into a deeply entwined and emotionally complex story of yearning, as a love triangle becomes increasingly complicated. Tracing the emotional journeys of lead characters Hugo, Thora, and August, it follows them through dreamlike summers, including candlelit nights in Paris, glittering Stockholm parties, sun-drenched terraces, and hot, hazy days by the water. Based on the bestselling novel by Johanna Hedman, and directed by Anders Hazelius, the series premieres on 1 June exclusively on SkyShowtime, with new episodes dropping weekly.
Starring August Wittgenstein (Das Boot, Faithless), Felix Sandman (Quicksand, Home for Christmas), Seth Manteus, Rebecka Harper and Nina Zanjani, The Trio (Trion) follows Hugo, Thora and August who are irresistibly pulled together as they explore the risks and possibilities of love, desire, and passion.
The cast also includes Alfonsina Bejerano, Eva Röse, Adam Pålsson and Celie Sparre in supporting roles.
When middle-aged Hugo is approached by the daughter of both his childhood loves, he is immediately thrown twenty years back in time to when, about to embark on his first year at university, he moved to Stockholm to live with the Stiller family. Here he meets Thora Stiller and her constant companion and occasional lover, August, and is plunged into a complex and passionate dynamic which alters the course of his life forever. Two decades later Hugo remains haunted by the past - will he finally dare to reclaim everything he lost?
The Trio (Trion) is produced by SF Studios in co-production with SkyShowtime, SVT, Film Stockholm, ZDF and Night Train Media. Ina Sohlberg, Tina Bergström, Emma Hägglund and Susann Billberg Rydholm will serve as producers and executive producers respectively for SF Studios. The six-part series is written by Veronica Zacco with Anders Hazelius at the helm as director.
