SkyShowtime last night hosted the official premiere of its gripping new original series Morpheus (Morfeusz) in Warsaw, the second Polish production to debut exclusively on the platform this year, following the documentary film Edyta Górniak. Since yesterday, 2 June, the first two episodes have been available in more than twenty markets where SkyShowtime operates, with a further five episodes arriving weekly until 7 July.
The series’ leading cast attended the event, including Andrzej Konopka, Kamil Szeptycki, Mateusz Kmiecik, Sylwia Gola, Magdalena Wieczorek, and Józefina Siwko. They were joined on the red carpet by members of the creative team, including director Maciej Migas, screenwriter Maciej Wawrzecki, cinematographer Bartek Cierlica, and composer Łukasz Targosz. Members of the supporting cast in attendance included Ali Bahrudinov, Mateusz Łasowski, Maciej Mikołajczyk, Michał Waleszczyński-Lis, and Michał Piróg, who made a guest appearance in the series. The event was hosted by actor Jędrzej Taranek.
SkyShowtime representatives Kai Finke, Chief Content Officer, and Edyta Pytlewska-Mele, Senior Regional Content Director CEE, officially welcomed the cast, creative team and special guests to the stylish celebration at Port Czerniakowski in Warsaw. Guests arrived at the venue by boat, where they were immersed in a dark, gangster-inspired atmosphere that reflected the spirit of the series, before enjoying a screening of the first episode.
Morpheus (Morfeusz) is SkyShowtime’s second original Polish production of the year, following the two-part documentary Edyta Górniak which premiered on the platform in March. Work is also underway on additional local series: Deadly Ties S2 (Pionek), a continuation of Deadly Ties (Śleboda) and Genialna M. (produced in cooperation with Polsat Television).
