SkyShowtime today announced the latest Polish original series Deadly Ties Season 2 (Pionek), will premiere exclusively on the service on 10 September. SkyShowtime also unveiled the official key art for the series, which is a follow-up to audience favourite Deadly Ties (Śleboda).

Deadly Ties S2 (Pionek) continues the gripping story of anthropologist Anka Serafin (Maria Dębska) and journalist Sebastian Strzygoń (Maciej Musiał). When an architecture student is brutally murdered in Silesia, the modus operandi bears a chilling resemblance to the crimes committed by Norman Pionek (Łukasz Simlat), the notorious serial killer known as the "Vampire of Szombierki," who is currently serving a prison sentence. Although all signs point to a copycat killer, each new lead only deepens the mystery, leaving the police without clear answers.

As Commissioner Kocur (Weronika Książkiewicz) leads the investigation, Bastian Strzygoń unexpectedly becomes involved while chasing a headline, drawing Anka Serafin into the case. The deeper they dig, the more questions arise, and the line between truth and deception begins to blur. To uncover who is behind the murders, they must confront dark secrets that have remained hidden for years.

Joining Dębska and Musiał, the supporting cast features an outstanding lineup of Polish talent, including Piotr Adamczyk, Anna Cieślak, Paulina Gałązka, Mirosław Haniszewski, Nel Kaczmarek, Andrzej Konopka, Weronika Książkiewicz, Karol Pocheć, Piotr Rogucki, Mateusz Rozwadowski, Łukasz Simlat, Ilona Wrońska, Zbigniew Zamachowski and Agnieszka Żulewska.

The series also sees the return of directors Michał Gazda and Bartosz Blaschke. Cinematography is by Maciej Lisiecki, with the screenplay written by Karolina Frankowska and Katarzyna Golenia. Magdalena Szwedkowicz serves as producer, while MAG Entertainment is responsible for production.

The series is based on the second novel in the bestselling series by Małgorzata Fugiel-Kuźmińska and Michał Kuźmiński.

Deadly Ties S2 (Pionek) is the latest Polish SkyShowtime Original commissioned by the platform. Earlier this year, the service premiered the two-part documentary Edyta Górniak, and the drama series Morpheus (Morfeusz). Production is also underway on Genialna M., created in collaboration with Polsat. These local productions join a growing line-up of Polish SkyShowtime Original hits including Deadly Ties (Śleboda), Krychowiak: One Step from the Top (Krychowiak: krok od szczytu), and The Cop. A New Chapter (Glina. Nowy rozdział), among others.
