Stellar supporting cast announced for Genialna M., the brand-new original crime comedy set to premiere exclusively on SkyShowtime this December

A collaboration between SkyShowtime and Telewizja Polsat, the original series is based on the popular French format H.P.I. and stars Agnieszka Dygant, with direction by Olga Chajdas

The supporting cast includes leading Polish actors Michał Czernecki, Helena Englert, Paweł Małaszyński and Anita Sokołowska

Today, SkyShowtime announced the supporting cast for new crime comedy series Genialna M., starring Agnieszka Dygant in the lead role. Based on the popular French format and produced as part of a collaboration between SkyShowtime and Telewizja Polsat, Dygant will be joined by a stellar supporting cast, including Michał Czernecki, Helena Englert, Paweł Małaszyński and Anita Sokołowska. The ensemble also includes Jowita Budnik, Robert Gonera, Robert Gulaczyk, Paweł Janyst, Timur Khramtsou, Józef Pawłowski, Dorota Pomykała, Marek Siudym, Agnieszka Sienkiewicz, Jakub Wesołowski, Krzysztof Wieszczek, Alicja Wójcik and Łukasz Orbitowski. The original series will premiere exclusively on SkyShowtime this December.

Marta (Dygant) works as a cleaner at a police station in Bielsko-Biała. One night, unable to resist the temptation, she begins tidying up the evidence board for a complex case that has reached a dead end. To the police officers’ surprise, she uncovers a lead that brings them significantly closer to catching the perpetrator. It turns out that Marta has an exceptionally high IQ of 160. Although her extraordinary intellect has never helped her in everyday life, it may prove to be a formidable weapon in the fight against criminals. From then on, the brilliant cleaner helps the police solve criminal mysteries.

The series is based on the French format H.P.I. – Haut Potentiel Intellectuel - created by Nicolas Jean, Stéphane Carrié and Alice Chegaray-Breugnot, based on an original idea by Nicolas Jean, produced by Septembre Productions and Itineraire Productions and licensed by Studio TF1. The production debuted in 2019 in France, and quickly gained widespread popularity, leading to a number of international adaptations, including an American version.

The first collaboration between European streamer SkyShowtime and Telewizja Polsat, Genialna M. is directed by Olga Chajdas (Imago, Wataha), and written by Błażej Dzikowski and Agata Malesińska, with Anna Rzepka as Director of Photography. Dorota Kośmicka serves as Creative and Executive Producer, with Jan Kępiński as Executive Producer. The production company is Jake Vision DGA Studio.

Genialna M. is just one of SkyShowtime’s upcoming Polish original series, and its eighth Polish production, joining a slate that includes Deadly Ties (Śleboda), Deadly Ties S2 (Pionek), Langer, The Cop. A New Chapter (Glina. Nowy rozdział), Morpheus (Morfeusz), and the recently announced new crime series The Hidden Beast (Zwierzak).
